Despite efforts to promote equality, discrimination remains a pressing issue that
hinders the career development of Asian doctors in the NHS.
The NHS, one of the largest employers in the UK, is renowned for its diverse workforce, with a significant proportion of its staff, including doctors, coming from ethnic minority backgrounds, notably those of Asian descent. While diversity enriches the NHS, providing a broad range of perspectives and skills, it also brings to the fore the challenges of ensuring all staff have equal opportunities to train, progress, and excel in their careers. Despite efforts to promote equality, discrimination remains a pressing issue that hinders the career development of Asian doctors in the NHS.
